About LBB
Laura Bell Bundy is a Tony-nominated Broadway actress and a Billboard Top 5 recording artist. She made her debut at the age of 9 in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Since then, she has originated several iconic roles, including Tina in Ruthless (for which she earned Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations), Amber in Hairspray on Broadway, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical (earning a Tony nomination), and Sylvia in The Cottage on Broadway. Bundy also took on the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway.
In addition to her stage work, Bundy has appeared in or starred in numerous films and TV shows, including Call Me Kat, The New Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder, Perfect Harmony, How I Met Your Mother/Father, Hart of Dixie, American Gods, Anger Management, Good Behavior, Scream Queens, Documentary Now, Dreamgirls, Jumanji, and many more. She recently wrapped filming Miracle on 74th Street, directed by Jill Kargman, set to release in 2025.
As a recording artist, Bundy has released multiple albums under Universal Music Group and Big Machine Label, earning a CMT nomination and a Billboard Top Five album. She was also a Sony Publishing songwriter from 2009 to 2014 and has toured the world performing her original music, opening for major acts like Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Dwight Yoakam, Miranda Lambert, and others.
As a writer and composer, Bundy created and developed the Netflix series Mashville and the women’s history sketch comedy variety show Girl Time for Freeform. Her latest album, Women of Tomorrow, released by ONErpm, explores the double standards women face today and has garnered over 3 million streams across platforms. The album is currently being adapted for Broadway, with a companion podcast of the same name on the Broadway Podcast Network offering deeper insights into the issues addressed. Bundy’s Women of Tomorrow Foundation has raised over $200K for female-focused causes in the New York area.
Outside of her professional career, Laura Bell and her husband, Thom, are restoring their 73-acre farm in New Jersey, where they care for three sheep, four goats, two dogs, and a vineyard. Her favorite role, however, is being Huck’s mom.
“I love helping young artists hone their craft and interpret their material in a way they really connect with. Legally Blonde is a musical I know intimately, a musical that has no small parts. I love giving insight into how to tell Elle’s story and do so in a way that makes every production and performance special and unique.”
